Speaking on Something OTHER THAN Personalities & Serving as Co-MC at Midwest DJs Live
Challenges are good. Challenges are opportunities for growth.Challenges can be a lot of fun. I spoke at the Midwest DJs Live conference two years in a row, and later was recruited to join the board. In my second year helping produce the show I was also given the opportunity to co-MC with my good friend and fellow board member, Mitch Taylor.
We had a lot of fun creating some unique elements for our attendees, and our presenters. We opened the show on Day 1 by introducing all of our speakers at once as a team. I loved that the audience got to see all of the presenters at the beginning of the conference, even those who weren’t actually speaking until later.
After that introduction I did a short presentation on Perspectives. This was the first presentation in quite a while that I have given that wasn’t specifically on something to do with personalities!
Throughout the rest of the show Mitch and I worked together to thank sponsors, introduce speakers, create smooth transitions, and engage with the audience. I also served as moderator for a different panel each day, and helped run the Q&A sessions designed to give all the speakers an opportunity to go a little bit deeper and answer specific questions from members of the audience.
I encourage you to say “yes” to a new challenge when the opportunity comes your way. And if you are a DJ, MC or other wedding or event professional, I highly recommend that you make plans to attend Midwest DJs Live 2020 in Milwaukee April 26-28, 2020.
